Information Products

Information marketing has become a multi million dollar industry that is growing rapidly. Some of the reasons for strong growth include freshness and ease of use. There is new or re-written information available and it’s very easy to obtain because of the internet. Plus, there is a ton of it out there. Good and bad. Anyone with a good idea can create an e-book, put it out on the web, and make some money. To be successful selling information products, you do need ideas people are looking for, be able to write clearly about those ideas, and be able to market.
How do you find out what people reading about? Research your topic and find out what people are interested in today. If you know anything about internet search engine research you can find out what are the most sought after and searched phrases. Some timeless subjects include:
- Diets
- Money
- Saving time
- Raising children
It helps to be somewhat quailed or passionate about your subject. Have you come up with a faster or easier way to clean your house? Do you have a money making stock market system that has worked? Do you work on cars? It always helps to be an expert. You can also learn about something new and write about it. Journals do it all the time.
How do become a better writer? Write. Write. Write some more. Have people read your writing and critique it honestly. My wife the English teacher reads a lot of my writing and marks it up with the read pen. I used to hate that until I realized it would help me learn and become a better writer. I do have to remind her sometimes that I’m writing to entertain and teach and not just to get a good English grade. There is a difference. If you just plain can’t write, hire someone to write for you. You supply the expertise and information and let the writer put it down on paper.
